Services at Summit at Knoxville

At Summit at Knoxville, we are dedicated to providing a full spectrum of addiction and mental health treatment services designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and families in East Tennessee. Our integrated approach ensures that every step of the recovery journey is supported, from initial medical stabilization through intensive therapeutic care and beyond. Located at 1016 Ic King Rd, Seymour, TN 37865, our facility offers a safe, compassionate, and expert-led environment where healing and lasting recovery can truly begin.

The demand for comprehensive behavioral health services in our region is significant. Tennessee consistently experiences higher-than-average rates of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Serious Mental Illness (SMI).

  • For instance, 17.15% of Tennesseans (12+) had a past-year SUD, with young adults (18-25) showing particularly high rates at 27.31%.
  • Similarly, 6.66% of adults (18+) live with SMI.

Our services are strategically designed to address these pressing needs, offering specialized care that responds directly to the challenges faced by our community, including the ongoing opioid crisis impacting Knox County and surrounding areas.

Medical Detoxification: Your Safe Start to Recovery

For many individuals struggling with substance dependence, the first and most critical step towards healing is detoxification. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, uncomfortable, and even life-threatening without proper medical supervision. Our Medical Detoxification program at Summit at Knoxville provides a 24/7 medically monitored environment to ensure your safety and comfort as your body clears itself of substances.

Our dedicated team of nurses and nurse practitioners provides continuous oversight, with a physician available weekly and as needed. We utilize evidence-based medication management to alleviate withdrawal symptoms, making the detox process as tolerable as possible.

Being housed in the same building as our residential treatment programs allows for a seamless and stress-free transition into the next phase of care, ensuring continuity in your recovery journey.

Residential Treatment: Building Foundations for Lasting Change

Following detoxification, or as a primary entry point for those not requiring detox, our Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides an intensive, structured, and supportive environment for deeper therapeutic work. This live-in program allows individuals to fully immerse themselves in recovery, away from the triggers and stresses of daily life, while developing essential coping skills and addressing underlying issues.

Our residential programs are staffed by a compassionate multidisciplinary team of medical doctors, licensed therapists, and certified addiction counselors. Patients engage in a robust schedule of individual and group therapy (6 hours daily), daily therapeutic check-ins, and one individual therapy session per week.

We integrate a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including:

All of these modalities help foster personal insight and sustainable change.

Beyond therapy, our holistic approach includes wellness practices such as guided morning hikes and outdoor basketball, along with nutritious meals prepared by an on-site chef, all designed to support physical and mental well-being throughout your stay.
